2030 ELECTRIFICATION COMMITMENT

We’re committed to achieving carbon neutrality in Europe by 2035, across our new vehicles, facilities, logistics and supplier base. By 2024, we will launch three new electric passenger vehicles and four new electric commercial vehicles, offering you choice when finding your perfect EV – whether for work, play, or everything in between.

Which Electric Vehicle Is Right For You?

If you’re considering making the switch to an electrified vehicle, then it’s important you understand the differences between them. Click on the icons below to get more information on Mild Hybrid, Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and All-Electric Vehicles.

All-Electric (BEV)

100% Electric. Just charge it up and go. All-Electric cars are powered by electricity alone. This means they have to be charged before you can drive.

ALL-ELECTRIC (BEV)

100% Electric. Just charge it up and go. All-Electric cars are powered by electricity alone. This means they have to be charged before you can drive.

Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV)

Plug In. Charge up. Improve Efficiency. Plug-in Hybrids have the two sources of power like a Hybrid, but with a larger high voltage battery, enabling you to drive longer distances on All-Electric power.

Hybrid (HEV)

A seamless blend of conventional and electric power. Hybrid vehicles have two sources of power. They can automatically switch between conventional mode, pure electric mode (for short distances)or use both to power the vehicle as needed.

Ford Kuga

Mild Hybrid (MHEV)

A small-electric motor that helps improve efficiency. Mild Hybrid vehicles have two sources of power that work together – a conventional engine and a battery -driven electric motor. The electric motor does not power the car. It simply assists it.

CONVENIENT CHARGING

Ford’s aim is to make charging your electrified vehicle as easy and painless as possible. That’s why we’ve developed a full suite of charging options and supporting technologies to provide a convenient and comprehensive charging experience. This includes access to our BlueOvalTM Charge Network that now has over 1,300 charging stations across Ireland, including high-speed IONITY stations.

IMPROVED PERFORMANCE AND LOWER FUEL BILLS

Hybrid and electric vehicles typically offer a smoother, quieter, more enjoyable drive, without compromising performance.

The overall cost of owning a hybrid or electric vehicle can be lower as well. Outstanding efficiency can mean less money spent on fuel, they tend to be cheaper to maintain, and are often eligible for tax incentives and government grants too.

WE’RE ELECTRIFYING OUR VANS TOO

The all-electric E-Transit is leading the charge, with Pro Power OnBoard and a range of up to 267-317 km.

By 2024, there’ll be four more EV models to choose from: the all-new Transit Custom one-tonne van and Tourneo Custom MPV. Followed by the smaller, next generation Transit Courier and Tourneo Courier MPV.

ALL-ELECTRIC VEHICLES

An all-electric vehicle runs on battery power alone. That means there’s zero fuel, and zero emissions on the road. With government incentives, reduced road tax, and lower servicing costs, they’re good for your wallet as well as the environment.

HOW TO CHARGE AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE

Ford’s aim is to make charging your electric vehicle as easy and painless as possible. That’s why we’ve developed a full suite of charging options and supporting technologies to provide you with a convenient and comprehensive charging experience.

HOME CHARGING

Want to make charging your all-electric vehicle at home as fast as possible? The range of Ford wall boxes can assist. With the help of one of our expert partners, we can help you arrange the installation of a higher power Wallbox at home. A Ford Wallbox offers faster charging times versus charging via conventional plug sockets, getting your all-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle back on the road as soon as you need it.

PUBLIC CHARGING

Our BlueOval™ Charge Network gives you access to over 1,400 conveniently located charging stations across Ireland, including high-speed IONITY stations, EBS, ePower, ChargePoint and EV-Box charging points. You’ll find them at supermarkets, shopping centres, motorway service stations, and many other locations.

WHAT AFFECTS DRIVING RANGE?

Just like other cars, there are things that affect the achievable driving range of an electric vehicle. For example, the Mustang Mach-E is available in a choice of powertrain and battery size options, with the RWD extended range model being capable of up to 600 km*. Other factors that may affect range include outside temperature, load weight, and driving style.

*Based on full charge. Estimated range using Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) applies to AWD model with extended range battery. Actual range varies with conditions such as external elements, driving behaviours, vehicle maintenance, and lithium-ion battery age.

SMART, FAST, CONVENIENT CHARGING

Charge on the road with our BlueOval™ Charge Network, which provides over 1,400 charge points across Ireland, including high-speed IONITY stations, EBS, ePower, ChargePoint and EV-Box charging points. For easy home charging, we offer smart wallboxes as well as charging cables for use with standard domestic power sockets.
